Going back a little...

November 9, 2009 is the day Peanut was born. December 20, 2009 is the day I brought Peanut home with me. As you can see, Peanut was a very young pup who was also shy. He used to hide under our living room couch because he didn't know where he was, but here is his first day home:

And here is his first trip to the vet(he didn't have those freckles on his muzzle):

Days later, he came out of his "shell" and unleashed his little puppy personality. And at that time, he even ate his dog food- a lot of it! And he also started nipping *oh no!* Then his ears started coming up, and up, and up, until he looked like this:

And this is where he was really starting to blossom into the Peanut he is( when he started growing freckles on his muzzle):

And now, he is my long little nub who is grown up and wonderful(had his full-grown freckles on his muzzle):

.... and NOTHING could ever replace him....

'nut's Christmas

I know it's a day late to tell about this but here is the story.

It was late at night (somewhere in the a.m.'s) and I was wrapping presents while Peanut was being an angel, just sleeping on the bed. I felt like waking him up to play and here was his tired face:

After the night, me and Peanut headed for the Christmas tree.

----------------------
And here is Peanut about to steal his presents.(sorry, it's blurry)

--------------------
He got a Kong teddy bear! It has low stuffing and a replaceable squeaker.

---------------
And a Frisbee to corgi around with.

-------------------------
And some Chicken-wrapped bones!

----------------
He also got a sweet potato bone from PetSmart!

-----------------------
This tiny beef flavored roll is VERY nutritious and doggy-licious for any meal!

------------------
Now, these Carob chip dog cookies (Honey's Bakery) are Peanut's favorite of all....

-------------------------
He even tried stealing some from the bag...

-------------------------
I didn't want him having tummy troubles from toooooooooo many cookies so I tried taking it away and he fit the WHOLE BAG in his mouth and ran away.

--------------------------
I can't wait for next year's Christmas so I can get Peanut twice the presents!

A short Christmas eve

Okay, the corgi claus wrapped the presents and put them under the tree. And one of those presents was a peanut butter flavored rawhide bone. Peanut saw the presents and took a big sniff at them. Then, he sniffed the peanut butter bone the most and he sneaked it to the room. I told him that it was for Christmas ,but Peanut didn't care. So, he took tried sneaking it out two more times until finally, I gave up. I had to give it to Peanut and he just can't let go anymore. Here is his sniff move:

And here is his chewage....

Have a merry Corgimas!

A loooooong Christmas... corgi style

Christmas is just slowly crawling up to us.  It's been taking a while for it to arrive even though there is a couple of days left. Peanut's wish list is still not completed- not even close(well, because there is a lot of stuff to go buy). I am starting to prepare Peanut's spring profile picture. I have only bought one thing for Peanut this Christmas so far, but on the eve I am going to go crazy buying all I can. My gift for Christmas is Peanut and corgis. This Christmas, I am going to read ALL the blogs I follow at one time even if it takes me all day(don't be afraid to recommend me and new blog to follow!) I thought that this picture could funky up a corgi Christmas a little more:

Ya, Peanut has some dirty paws there. I took him a bath afterwords. But don't you just love wrapping your corgi because every one should know that each corgi is always going to be a gift that god gave us.

Peanut also might get this fuzzy sock for Christmas....

And I would really enjoy it if you tell us how you celebrate the holiday corgi style! And this old picture means A LOT to me....

Merry Christmas everyone :)

Today is a special day...

Today is a special day because today is the Sunday I brought Peanut to this home. Today is the day a creature created a cycle of happiness and adventure in my life. Today is when a little miracle happened.

:) lots of smiles to Peanut!

---------------------------------------------

Today, I lost my video camera so I can't take pictures until I find it :(

Two days ago, I received probably my last paw it forward package but I got a stuffed porcupine toy, some peanut butter treats & bones, and a Greenies treat. As usual, he just ran away with everything and either ate/destroyed it. I think this will be one of Peanut's Christmas gifts. Thanks Maggie and Lisa!

Have a corgiful Christmas!

I'm back!

I am being consumed with time, Peanut, work, and etc. I have had no time to blog about Peanut, but now I have a chunk of time :). Here is a hello from Peanut!:

Do you feed your corgi/dog a Busy Bone by Purina? Peanut usually gets it, licks it, runs away, and hides/eats it. Every time I try to tell him to "drop it" he just puts his ears back and gives me those puppy eyes like this:

And the part I enjoy best is the part that he is holding two Busy Bones in his mouth. He hates it when I try to get his food. He usually tries putting it all in his mouth and runs away or he sometimes mumbles a growl to me. I understand the growling part is a bad behavior but I taught him that his bad behavior is unacceptable.
 -------------
Christmas is getting closer! That means more Peanut, blogging, etc. I am going to spoil my Peanut with love and attention this holiday. What are you doing for your corgi this season/holiday?

Blog to you later!

Cold

Sorry I haven't updated my blogging. There is just not a lot of things to talk about but now, there is a few. It's getting colder and that means Peanut! You know how a corgi's coat is "weather proof"? Well, Peanut's isn't because every night it hits the 30's he just lays down beside me on the bed curled into a fluff ball. I finally found the perfect Christmas tree! The reason a Christmas tree comes into this post about a corgi is because Peanut loves Christmas trees. Last year, we never found a Christmas tree so Peanut never got to greet one. And this Christmas tree is not real so it has these nice, dark green bristles that Peanut loves to rub against. It always worries me because he goes under and around the Christmas tree so he could simply tip over the tree or urinate on the skirt.

Peanut is soon to start his therapy dog coarses! :)
Have a corgi Christmas!

(and more)The CGC test result....

After all my hard work and dedication to this obedience with Peanut the results are here... sorry but.... PEANUT PASSED! He almost failed though. While he was doing his sit-stays there was a crowd of people wearing thick jackets passed by and Peanut barked at them once and then calmed down. I am *SOOOOOOOOO* glad Peanut didn't continue with his protective bark. He has never done that but he probably thought they looked strange. At least he passed!

We celebrated his little graduation by buying him some of his favorite dog sprinkle cookies.

AND A 19 SQUEAKER TOY!!!

And a little ball.

I have to say, I was very nervous. I was rushing. It was like 100 lbs. was lifted off my brain when I figured me & nub-nub passed the CGC test. Hallelujah!

It's final

This is it. This is the official day of the CGC test and no going back in time. At 6:45 (Central time) Peanut and me will be testing our obedience training and skills. I gotta trim Peanut's nails, brush, brush, brush, brush teeth, brush hair again, clean ears, trim paw feathering, brush hair again. I am excited but nervous and doubtful at the same time. The worst part is that no treats are allowed so it's going to be harder to keep him from screwing his tricks up. I am deeply worried inside and out. Any advice to keep Peanut from "breaking" his out-of-sight sit-stays?

PLEASE READ THE 2ND HALF OF THIS BLOG!

All that has happened these last few days of no posts is I just bought Peanut a few stuff he needed and wanted. Also, I am going to receive a special paw it forward package from the very kind Lisa from Corgi Kisses. And I am getting a little box of chocolates(so not safe for a corgi or dog) from Shedding The Wolf. Thanks to everyone who has gave away stuff to me and other people! Changing subject, don't you ever realize how long your corgi/dog is? Well for corgis and other long breeds this is major. I already knew that Peanut's back is about 18-19 inches(I measured it.) How about you take out some measuring tape and measure our little shorty's backs? I'll try to be more updated now. And OMG! Peanut's official CGC test is tomorrow! I better start training again because this is very important situation. I am not so sure he will stay put in his stays but everything else seems fine. *Sigh* There's to much going on here.

VAN w/CORGIS and AKITAS STOLEN in LONG BEACH, CA -- please pass along!

Please cross post this to every list you are on and get the news out.

Kristina Rickard's (Dream Hi Akitas) van was stolen while it was parked Sunday night at a Motel 6 in Long Beach, California. They don't know when it was stolen, but it was gone yesterday morning (11/30/10).

It has Trace (Top 5 Akita) and a young female Akita, and two Corgis in it.

Anyone in the Southern California area, please notify your vet's office and local animal control in case the dogs are found, turned loose or taken to a vet.

If anyone knows how to get this on the local news, MSN, etc. it would be a great help. Tom Rickard headed to Long Beach, and Lori is at home manning the phones, and Nener (Kristina) and David have Tamera Houser driving to hotel right now, so they will have help and wheels. Nener's cell phone is: 530-351-2412 -- please do not call to talk, but only if information is found or you have amazing suggestion --please text if possible. E-mail:dreamhi@c-zone.net

The police have already come to take a statement and hopefully they will be a great help.

Vehicle ID:  2006 White Chevy Express Cargo Van, California license 8D20252, with a big black box on the back and three dog stickers on the back windows. If anyone was to see this van on the side of the road or parking lot, please report asap and check on the dogs. Hopefully, they will be found inside.
Here is an ad/reward with pictures of the dogs:

Mom disease

I love Peanut very much and I know you love your corgi/dog too. Do you ever attack your companion with hugs and kisses? I do and Peanut hates it. Every time I do this he is probably thinking "Mom! Stop it!" I can't stop it. It is *verrrrrrrrrrrrry*  hard to get rid of. It's something called Mom Disease. I stick to Peanut like peanut butter and jelly. How could I resist smothering my corgi with love and perhaps, spoiling him just a pinch? The corgi's looks catch my eye and that is how I discovered the corgi. When I first saw them on T.V., I thought that those long, cute bodies and huge ears were worth researching and look at me now. Corgi in my lap, smothering this corgi with love and food. I might as well just call it Mom Disease. That is what Peanut has. What about your dog?

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, but I didn't get to do it with Peanut :(. I still had fun though! I first went to eat out(it had turkey!), then I went to a river place out of town with ducks. I also brought along some bread and it drew me a big crowd of ducks.

I couldn't feed Peanut any turkey 'cause I found out that turkey is really fatty and not really good for them and there was no chicken for Peanut :(
That's all for today corgi lovers!

Happy Thanksgiving!
