Happy Halloween! (1)

Peanut and I love this time of the year. It's where we get treats and walk around to have fun! I don't know if Peanut's tiny legs are going to hold all the walking. Perhaps a treat will keep him motivated?

Peanutness

But there is one thing that ruined it all.... Peanut got fleas again! I had to rinse and repeat. *Ugh* I have to go to the vet for better flea protection. I <3 Texas, but there's to many fleas. Fleas, fleas, fleas, everything fleas.

Not so sure about trick-or-treating with fleas on this boy, but I am going to try. I would love to see how your Halloween went! Put millions of pictures on your blog of your corgi and that will make a smile! :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Magazines

I ordered this magazine while ago and here it is!

It's quite long and interesting. And it also has many, many corgis, but here are just a couple:

I got excited that corgis were in here for the first time out of the two magazines I have read so far, but there are way more than 2 magazines. Yay!!!!!

And there are corgi wine stoppers that you can buy at fuzzynation.com!!!!

------------------------------------------

*That's all for today folks*

Hmm.... Halloween is in...... 2 days!! Mark your calendars, buy your costumes and go have some fun with your very lengthy companion this weekend.

King Peanut

Today, I took a trip to Target and bought Peanut another costume! and it is a king :)

I am going to use this costume for a costume contest that I am going to, but he is to long for the cape. And he runs around the house rubbing his head against everything trying to take off the crown. I enjoyed it, but I wish there was a banana costume though. Target should have had it custom fit  for the corgi's longness.

I have not really decorated my house with Halloween stuff that much. The only thing there is, is pumpkins. Many, many pumpkins.

You should know that every corgi enjoys peanut butter. And after I was looking through the peanut butter section, I found this:

It's sweetish ,but it's peanut butter. It tastes *sooooooooooooooooooooo* good. When I opened the jar I expected the peanut butter to be creamy and sort of solid. The peanut butter was liquid, but the bottom was the solid part of it all. I even refrigerated it, but it's still liquid. I hope by tomorrow it will all be great! I have no idea why, but I think cinnamon stuff fits for fall and winter. I even offered Peanut some because it was delicious.................*mmmmm*

Halloween is close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peanut butter dog biscuits :)

Well yesterday, I printed a recipe from http://bullwrinkle.com and obviously, I printed a recipe for peanut butter dog biscuits. I had all the ingredients so I got them all out. And here is the recipe:

ingredients:

1/2 cups water(add more water later if required)
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
3 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 cup corn meal
1/2 cup oats

Blend wet ingredients together. Whisk dry ingredients together and mix into wet mixture to form a ball of dough. Roll out and shape. Put onto non-stick cookie tray or lightly greased one. Cook 20 minutes at 400 F. Turn off oven and allow the biscuits to cool in oven until crisp and hard. Store in airtight container.
------------------------------
I also added some pinches of cinnamon to keep Peanut coming back for more (hehe.) But, I don't over-feed him.
Here is my fun making it with Peanut around!

This was a messy mixture

And then I finished mixing it

I rolled it out, but I only had Christmas cookie cutters to shape the cookies

And I shaped them but I the cookie tray wasn't big enough to fit millions of cookies, so I decided to do a tray at a time.

 And *ta-da*

The shapes were not that great but Peanut really enjoyed them. They are great and I hope you show some great dog recipes on your blog too! Peanut is a treataholic. He always comes to me every time I
 open my fridge :P

Halloween is this weekend!!!!!

Peanuts!!!!

Today, I brought out the peanut bowl while Peanut was chillin' on the couch.

Peanut's ears went straight up as I set it down. He ran to me like never before! Jumping, squirming, anything to get just one peanut. Peanut decided to do this the old way- getting up on the chairs. He managed  to get up to quickly, he hit his head on the table(ouch.) He started nosing the peanut's and eating them.

Big no-no Peanut! Oh, I also have bought him a jar of Planter's peanuts a few months before which, he has almost finished. I even buy him his own peanut butter jar(Jif) to eat and stuff in his Kong. He is all weird. Peanut's never acted so serious to the sight of peanuts.

Peanut would sniff, do a trick, jump, or do anything just to have on of these. I love his little food obsessions from fruit to yogurt and now, peanuts. Life is wonderful with a corgi no matter how much energy they hold in their long and short bodies.
Peanut made me feel like I always have someone there watching my every move. All I needed was him to complete me. After all the little and big things he has done from obedience and shortness to love and kisses has made me love him to pieces! November 9, 2009 God brought to this world my biggest miracle... Peanut.

It's all about food and Peanut in my world.

Have a happy Halloween everyone!

"Flying Squirrel Position"

This is known as a Corgi's favorite position. Especially Peanut's. His first time ever doing the position was.....maybe when I first got him??? He has done it so many times and I would like to see your corgis in action!(on your blog)

Peanutness

Hehehe. Don't you love what your corgi does???

I got it!

I got a new food, but I forgot which one Kelly told me to get while I was at Petsmart, so I just got this one!

I just remembered that the food was Core, but Peanut really needed food so I just got this one. Is is okay? Should I change it?

Here is one of Peanut's favorite treats

This one(above) had a short and simple recipe:  Rice flour, Rice bran, Lamb, Oat Fiber, Olive oil, Sea salt.
I liked this one because it had just 6 ingredients(that's how it it got it's title.)

Here is another one that Peanut loves.... "Drum roll, Please!

These! They are cinnamon-apple flavored(as you can see.) The brand is Natural Choice, but there are many other flavors like carrot, cranberries with blueberries, blueberries, pumpkin, and many more. They are also not the greatest because they have grains(whole grains.) But, because Peanut loves fruit, I got this one and I am planning to get the pumpkin one, but I am not sure if it's carrots with pumpkin. Either way, there's 9 more days til' Halloween!!!!

Now it's a BIG deal

It's been Peanut's 2nd weekly class out of 6 weekly classes. And this time it's advanced. If your Corgi has been in advanced obedience classes I would like to know how that went (and any other class)  ;)  And if you did the CGC test then I would love to hear how that went as well! 4 more weeks of hard training and then on Thursday November 25 the major test is going to see how well my youngster can do................................ but if he fails..............which is less likely to happen with God by my side............................. then...............Peanut and I will have to................ do advanced obedience classes again. My life will end if I mess up( Peanut could never be the one who messes up because I am the one who is supposed to train him well.) The root of the problem is time. I do have time to spend my time with lil' Peanut, so now I can only try to spend that time training him. And the worst part is that I am on my own in this space-less world. It's a BIG deal. It puts oh so much pressure on me and my pup because there is even this AKC dog trainer that is coming to host our test. AND Peanut's classmate, Diva is a Bouvier des Flandres, but here is an example:

                    (They spelled it wrong)

And Diva is Peanut smart. They both have the same smarts. And that makes them very much alike(but not by the looks) and they are both even in the herding group too!!! I hope Peanut passes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you really call a Pembroke Welsh Corgi's Tail???

Is there even an official name to it? If so, please tell me!!! I have no clue what the real name is. Yes, it's this thing:

And no, not the butt. The round docked tail! Before, I was thinking and looked in a dictionary and it showed "Stubby- Short or docked tail or object."  Is that it? Or could it be another name such as, stub, nub, etc. Any ideas? If you get another name or if you gather the official name, please tell me what it is in the comments below. The question is so confusing, even Peanut doesn't know the answer.

Stubbies are quite cute though. Let's say, when I come back from the grocery store, Peanut runs up to me and starts moving his stubby side-to-side as if it were still a tail. If Pembroke Welsh Corgis are so loved(and Cardis), then, why don't their little, docked tails have a name??? I don't really know if I am wrong about PWCs not having tails, but oh well!

Back n' Bones

It's sick how Corgis are the ones who are chosen to have all these dreadful problems.

For Pembrokes:
  • Canine Hip Dysplasia(CHD), Intervertebral Disc Disease, Epilepsy, Degenerative Myelopathy, von Willebrand's Disease(vWD), Progressive Retinal Atrophy(PRA), Lens Luxation, Urinary Stones
For Cardigans:
  • Canine Hip Dysplasia(CHD), Degenerative Myelopathy, Progressive Retinal Atrophy(PRA), Lens Luxation, Urinary Stones

Well as we all can see, the Cardigan Welsh Corgi is the lucky one! *Grunt* The poor little Pembrokes struggle with even more problems :(
I would pass-out if I heard that Peanut had a problem. I cross my fingers to have Peanut never get anything... which is less likely to happen because he will get old. And if he does get whatever is above for the Pembroke. Have you had any sort of dog that has ever had a life-threatening problem? Is your companion at risk?

My bed bug

Yes, you should already know how much Peanut loves fruit. And if you read About Yogurt...., then you should know about how Peanut hides under my bed.

And he sometimes stays under my bed, so it's almost like it's his room. I understand that he is growing up and he needs his personal space. Here is a picture that has to do with math and Peanut:

I can't blame him. Peanut loves anything sweet. And he loves my bed!

Groom doom

The fur, nails, ears, teeth! Everything is such a big mess! At least twice a week, I have to do this same cycle.

  1. Groom the hair for 10 min.
  2. Trim the nails
  3. Clean the ears( It's hard to do because Peanut hates it when stuff is in his ears
  4. Brush teeth
It's not an easy job, because Peanut knows how to get away.
Here are the steps:

  1. Hair
                                        (sorry it came out blurry)

2. Trim the nails

(sorry I couldn't find the nail trimmer)

3. Clean the ears

 4.Brush teeth

And some times there is a five.... Bath. The worst part is the bath. Peanut jumps in and out of the tub and gets water everywhere. Does your lil' corgi give you trouble while you groom?

If only Peanut knew that I am only grooming him....

Yes... Silly bands

I went to Petsmart and found a Silly band!!!! Not just any Silly band, a Cardigan Welsh Corgi silly band. Yes, they are for kids, but I could never resist a corgi in any matter.
I am so happy to have another corgi in my life :) I know they didn't have a Pembroke, but I still got to have it.

Peace, love, and Corgis!

Over and under

Peanut's weight has been just a scribble of lines. There are ups and downs.

8 weeks- 4 lbs.
10 weeks- 5 lbs.
15 weeks- 12 lbs.
32 weeks- 19 lbs.
39 weeks- 23 lbs.
43 weeks- 17 lbs.
48 weeks(now) - 25 lbs.

As you can see he had a fall during 43 weeks, but I think that he was that way because he never ate his food. He hated it so much.  And now I give him different flavored food, but he only wants to eat about 3/4 cup of his dog food when he is really supposed to eat 2 1/4 cup of dog food. Do you think he eats very little because of the brand? He eats Science Diet. I have tried mixing in peas, rice, treats, peanut butter and he just picks out the food I mix in with it. He is still in the weight he is supposed to be in, but I don't want it to decrease.  What should I do??

It's always about peanut butter

Every time I try to make a peanut butter sandwich guess who gets in my way. Peanut. I get the bread, then the peanut butter. As I open the jar *Vroom* Peanut rushes to me. I finish making my sandwich and I have 25 pounds on my lap. I take him off the chair, but he's still there. He is watching my every move with a peanut butter sandwich in my hand. I set it down on the table and...
(Sorry, the smiley face was bad)

He stares and attempts to eat it, but he's to short too reach my height!

Laser lover

I go get a laser for Peanut to play with. He comes to me with extreme excitement. He stares with bulging eyes. I turn on the laser and....

Does your corgi freak out when they see a laser? Mine sure does!

Peanut's tricks so far

He knows Sit, Down, Stay, Stand, leave it, still, shake, high five, roll over, play dead, bed, and everything else that I can't remember. But, here are just a few:

Roll over

                                           Still
                                            Shake
                                             Play dead
                                           Stay
                                          leave it
                                          down
                                            Sit

What tricks does your Corgi know? Which do you need to work on?

How to draw a Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Sorry for those who want to draw a Cardigan Welsh Corgi! But, I went a library and rented a book.(if you want the title and author of the book, then just ask in the comments) I took a peek inside and I found a CORGI. I had like a Corgi attack or something. I also found Great Danes, Yorkies, etc. I rented the book and started drawing the Corgi. It was so exciting because, even if you can't draw good you can always take pictures! And if you want to draw a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, sketch/draw the images below. And you can always add features from your own Corgi to make it seem more like your Corgi. Here are the images:

                                          Step 1 & 2
Step 3
                                          Step 4
                                          Step 5
                                          Step 6

And if you have trouble drawing an image, then comment which step you want me to take a better picture of and I will post an new post showing whatever images  that are improved. Yes, I know, it is kind of complicated. I drew it too, but it it not the easiest thing in the world and it's not the hardest. I also added some Peanut features such as the freckles on his muzzle, the shorter legs, the bigger ears. And if you draw it, you can email me your drawing to me. And only if you want me to, I can post your amazing corgi drawings on here! Just email me the pictures at peanutacorgi@ymail.com

                                                                          Draw a Corgi!
